The Volpetti family vineyard is located on the volcanic slopes of the Colli Albani region, just South of Rome, where the richness of the soils and the proximity of the sea have favoured winemaking since the Roman Empire.
The Volpettis have cultivated this land since 1958 with a mission to produce great wines from indigenous grape varieties, such as Malvasia Puntinata, Bellone, as well as the mythical Cesanese, a seminal variety highly prized by the Romans. The Volpetti winery also grows national varieties, like Sangiovese, Montepulciano and Trebbiano, as well as compatible international varieties, such as Syrah and Chardonnay, which are expertly blended to create elegant, structured, modern wines that reveal the full complexity and generosity of this millennial terroir.
