Founded in 1952, Cantina di Monteforte is a historic wine cooperative located east of Verona, at the heart of the volcanic terroir of Soave and Valpolicella. With 600 winegrowers and 1,200 hectares of vineyards, it produces exceptional wines that embody the unique character of its land.

Its vineyards thrive on mineral-rich basaltic soils, ideal for Garganega, the signature grape of Soave DOC, while the limestone-rich terrain fosters the cultivation of red grapes for Valpolicella DOC. Combining tradition and innovation, Cantina di Monteforte ensures precise vinification while respecting the environment.

Each year, Cantina di Monteforte produces 140,000 hectoliters of wine, amounting to 4 million bottles, delivering both authenticity and excellence. From vine to bottle, its commitment is reflected in sustainable practices, respect for the terroir, and an ongoing pursuit of quality.

Nestled in the volcanic hills of Soave Classico, Cantina di Monteforte embodies the harmony between tradition, nature, and innovation. Founded in 1952, this cooperative unites 600 winegrowers dedicated to sustainable viticulture, crafting wines that authentically reflect their terroir.

The basalt-rich soils, remnants of a tropical sea that disappeared 50 million years ago, impart a unique minerality and complexity to our wines. Our vineyards, cultivated without emergency irrigation, thrive in an ideal climate within a preserved ecosystem where biodiversity plays a key role. Every harvest is done by hand, ensuring the utmost respect for the fruit and a minimal intervention approach to winemaking, preserving the true essence of the land.

Under the Clivus label, our wines reflect generations of expertise, blending tradition with modern techniques to create outstanding vintages. Our commitment to sustainability is evident through eco-friendly practices, reduced inputs, and meticulous winemaking, using low sulfite levels and fine lees aging to enhance aromatic purity.
