Strawberry and Fragoli Tiramisu Recipe
Ingredients:
Cheese Mixture:
- 500g mascarpone cheese
- 5 eggs (separated yolks and whites)
- 5 tablespoons of sugar
Coulis for Dipping the Biscuits:
- 250g strawberries
- 4 tablespoons of Fragoli strawberry liqueur
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Sugar to taste, depending on the sweetness of the strawberries (approximately 2 to 3 tablespoons)
- 1 package of Pavesini or ladyfinger biscuits
Topping:
- 500g strawberries, sliced thick
- Cocoa powder, to taste
Preparation:
For the Strawberry Coulis:
- Start by removing the stems from the strawberries and cut them into halves or quarters, depending on their size. Place them in a bowl and add sugar. Let them macerate for a few minutes to release their natural flavors.
- Put the strawberries in a blender, add lemon juice, and blend until you get a smooth liquid puree. Transfer the coulis to a bowl, add Fragoli liqueur to taste, and set it aside to use for dipping the biscuits later.
For the Cheese Mixture:
-
Separate the egg yolks from the whites. Whisk the egg yolks with 4 tablespoons of sugar until they become pale and frothy. Add the mascarpone cheese and continue whisking until smooth. Set aside this velvety cream.
-
In another bowl, beat the egg whites with the remaining sugar until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the mascarpone mixture to preserve its lightness. Set aside this airy cream.
Assembling the Strawberry and Fragoli Tiramisu:
-
Choose a 26cm bowl to assemble your Tiramisu.
-
Dip the Pavesini or ladyfinger biscuits into the strawberry coulis and arrange them at the bottom of the bowl to form a uniform layer.
-
Next, add half of the cheese mixture on top of the soaked biscuits.
-
Generously sprinkle half of the sliced strawberries and cocoa powder for an extra touch of indulgence.
-
Repeat the process by adding another layer of dipped biscuits, cheese mixture, strawberries, and cocoa powder.
-
Carefully cover the Tiramisu bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate it for at least 4 hours, or even overnight, to allow the flavors to blend and the biscuits to soak in the sweetness.
