Tiramisu with Walnuts and Nocello

Ingredients:

  • 1 box of ladyfingers
  • 350g of mascarpone cheese
  • 10cl of Nocello liqueur
  • 1 cup of strong coffee (espresso type)
  • 300g of roughly chopped walnuts
  • 2 eggs
  • 100g of powdered sugar
  • 25g of unsweetened cocoa powder


Instructions:
    1. In a shallow dish, mix Nocello and coffee.
    2. In a large bowl, whisk egg yolks, powdered sugar, 250g of mascarpone cheese, and chopped walnuts until smooth.
    3. In another bowl, whisk egg whites until stiff peaks form.
    4. Gently fold the egg whites into the mascarpone cream.
    5. Quickly dip half of the ladyfingers in the coffee-Nocello mixture and arrange them at the bottom of a deep dish or bowl.
    6. Pour half of the mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers.
    7. Repeat with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone cream.
    8. Whisk the remaining mascarpone cheese with the unsweetened cocoa powder and spread this mixture over the top of the tiramisu.
    9. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 12 hours before serving.
